Getting high levels of vitamin D3 will help with Celiac Disease
Getting high levels of vitamin D3 will help with Celiac Disease
This is a fantastic article on how the best way to naturally help fight autoimmune diseases like celiac disease, multiple sclerious and several other autoimmune disease symptoms can be stopped in their tracks by taking he correct dosage of vitamin D3.
From mercola.com:
When you do supplement with vitamin D, you'll only want to supplement with natural vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). Do NOT use the synthetic and highly inferior vitamin D2, which is the one most doctors will typically give you in a prescription unless you ask specifically for D3. According to the most recent findings by Carole Baggerly, which involved research on nearly 10,000 people, shows the ideal adult dose appears to be 8,000 IU's a day to get most into the healthy range.
Get your vitamin D blood levels checked! The only way to determine the correct dose for you is to get your blood tested since there are so many variables that influence your vitamin D status. The above recommendation is only an estimate. I recommend using Lab Corp in the U.S.
The correct test your doctor needs to order is 25(OH)D, also called 25-hydroxyvitamin D, which is the better marker of overall D status. This is the marker that is most strongly associated with overall health.
The OPTIMAL value of vitamin D that you're looking for is explained in the chart below. If you were in the sun nearly every day with large amounts of your skin exposed and not taking any oral vitamin D, your level would be around 100 ng/ml. This range applies for everyone: children, adolescents, adults and seniors. Unless you get a deep dark tan, which is a pretty good gauge that your vitamin D levels are where they need to be, it is wise to get your blood levels checked; that is the only way to know for certain you have reached therapeutic levels.

Gluten free meal ideas for children
This website is geared towards children that have to eat gluten free. As far as we know our kids do not have celiacs. But it is nice to cook meals that everyone can eat and it also avoids cross contamination.

Celiac Disease, have gone gluten free and still feel sick. Try GAPS or SCD Diet
If you have celiac disease, have gone gluten free and still feel sick I think you should try putting yourself on the GAPS diet or SCD diet. It is temporary and helps heal the gut. The leaky gut syndrome is caused by the food leaking out of the holes in your intestines (caused by celiac spur) and going into your blood supply. You may have these holes. I am not sure, but this may be worth a shot and it is all natural approach without pills. Sounds great to me.

SCD (Specific Carbohydrate Diet)

Don't want to use Xanthum Gum, Substitute Please!
Since I am baking Gluten Free foods now due to having a celiac in the family I just can't get over the disgusting taste of Xanthum gum. I know in most recipes it is such a minimal amount of xanthum gum used, but I hate it and it makes my s
tomach feel weird. The more I read about xanthum gum the more I feel uneasy about it. The fact is mostly like the xanthum gum is being created from some form of High Fructose Corn Syrup. I am not ok with that! We do not eat HFC and even my 6 year old goes around telling people we don't eat high fructose corn syrup :)
Anyways I was so happy to find this blog tonight:http://glutenfreegirl.com/chia-seeds-and-flaxseeds/
